THE HOLY BIBLE: NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION 2011
1 Everything that exists, apart from God Himself, has been designed and made by Him and for Him.
Genesis 1:1: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Psalm 24:1: The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
John 1:3: Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
2 Creation itself is evidence of a Divine Creator.
Psalm 19:1: The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Romans 1:20: For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine
nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made . . .
3 Human beings are the marvelous crowning touch of God’s creation.
Genesis 1:26-27: Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over
the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures
that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
Psalm 139:13-14: For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you
because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
4 The Holy Bible (the Divinely inspired, trustworthy and authoritative Scriptures) reveal(s) God to us and His plans for His creation.
2 Timothy 3:15-16: . . . you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation
through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and
training in righteousness,
5 God is all-powerful and capable of doing anything He chooses with His creation.
Jeremiah 32:17: . . . Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and
outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.
Mark 10:27: Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible
with God.”
6 God is perfectly good and loving.
Psalm 100:5: For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all
generations.
Jeremiah 29:11-13: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to
harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will
listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Romans 8:28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been
called according to his purpose.
7 God is involved in the workings of His creation, relating to individual people.
Psalm 139:1-3: You have searched me, LORD, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you
perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
Psalm 34:17-19: The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The
LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have
many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all;
8 God invites us to know Him and enjoy His goodness.
Psalm 28:7: The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for
joy, and with my song I praise him.
Psalm 34:8, 10: Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him . . . those who
seek the LORD lack no good thing.
Matthew 11:28-29: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke
upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
9 God’s love led Him to provide a remedy to the brokenness of His creation, and of our relationship with Him.
John 3:16-17: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall
not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the
world through him.
Ephesians 2:4-5: But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even
when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
1 John 3:1: See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that
is what we are!
10 Every person is in need of the salvation that Jesus has secured for us.
Romans 3:10-11, 23: There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one
who seeks God . . . for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Ephesians 2:1-3: As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you
followed the ways of this world . . . All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our
flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.
1 John 1:8: If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
11 Jesus, God’s Son, gave His life for us to bring us God’s gift of forgiveness and healing.
2 Corinthians 5:20-21: . . . Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him
we might become the righteousness of God.
1 Peter 2:24: “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for
righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
12 Our faith in Jesus establishes a new restored relationship with God.
John 1:12: . . . to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become
children of God
Romans 5:1: Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord
Jesus Christ
Ephesians 2:12-13: remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel
and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ
Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
13 Our faith in Jesus establishes new restored relationships with one another.
John 13:34-35: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one
another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
2 Corinthians 13:11: Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of
one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
14 God gives us all we need so that He can watch us enjoy the life He has always desired for us.
John 10:10: I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
John 15:11: I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
1 Timothy 6:17: Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in
wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our
enjoyment.
15 All who believe and follow Jesus belong to a new family of people, the Church; people who help and encourage one another and work together to make God’s saving grace known to others.
Matthew 16:17-18: Jesus replied . . . I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Galatians 6:10: Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to
the family of believers
Hebrews 10:24-25: And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving
up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another . . .
16 God’s work of salvation in our life calls us to and equips us for living in new ways of grace and love.
Ephesians 4:2: Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Ephesians 5:1-2: Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as
Christ loved us and gave himself up for us . . .
2 Peter 1:3-4: His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him
who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious
promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the
world caused by evil desires.
17 There is one God who has revealed Himself to us as three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It was the love of the Father that had Him send Jesus, the Son, to be our Savior.
John 14:23-24: Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will
come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These
words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
1 John 4:14: we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.
18 Jesus, the Son, in obedience to His father, offered His life to rescue ours by His death and resurrection.
Mark 10:45: the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
John 10:17-18: The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18 No one takes
it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This
command I received from my Father.”
19 As Jesus promised, the Holy Spirit lives within each of God’s children, helping us to live the new life He invites us into.
John 14:26: . . . the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things
and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
Acts 1:4-5, 8: On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave
Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5 For John baptized
with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” . . . you will receive power when the Holy
Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of
the earth.”
Romans 8:14-16, 9: those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does
not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to
sonship . . . The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children . . . And if anyone does not have
the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.
20 Those who, through faith, have accepted the gift of forgiveness and new life will be raised up after this life to experience eternal life in the presence of our Creator God.
Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 John 5:11-12: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever
does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17: For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice
of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still
alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be
with the Lord forever.
