Serve Weekends at Oshkidee are an opportunity to give back to the ministry through the donation of your time, energy and skills!

Every May and September long weekend we invite the camp community to join us at the lake for a weekend of maintenance, organization + repairs to ensure that our facility is prepped and ready for another season of ministry.

There is no charge for attending a Serve Weekend; your meals + accommodations are complementary and your children are welcome to join you for this opportunity to serve and grow together!

  • FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 4 2026 | Bonus Lake Day / Evening Weekend Kick-Off

    • Arrive any time - you will be responsible for your own meals on this day

    • 8pm: Night lunch served

    SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 5 2026 | Work Day

    • 8am: Breakfast served

    • 9am: Safety Meeting + Job Assignments

    • 12pm: Lunch served

    • 3pm: Coffee Break

    • 6pm: Supper served

    • 8pm: Night lunch served

    SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 6 2026 | Day of Rest + Play / Optional Work Day

    • 10am: Breakfast served

    • 12pm: Lunch served

    • 3pm: Coffee Break

    • 6pm: Supper served

    MONDAY SEPTEMBER 7 2026 | Departure Day

    • 10am: Brunch

    • 12pm: Departure

    • Sweeping / vaccuming / mopping floors

    • Dusting + wiping down walls and shelves

    • Removing docks

    • Repair watercraft

    • Minor facility repairs

    • Inventory + organization

    • Window washing + carpet cleaning

    • Washing mattresses

    • Brush clearing + weed removal

    • Screen repairs

    CARPENTRY / GENERAL

    • Rebuild Talking Square

    • Repair shop roof

    • Replace Chalet flooring

    • Replace damaged flooring (lodge kitchen & dining room)

    • Repair chalet basement bathrooms

    • Install trim 

    • Repair lodge deck beam

    • Build fence around generator

    • Repair fence by septic tanks

    ELECTRICAL

    • Install lodge light fixtures

    • Install chalet kitchen & bathroom lighting

    • Install thermostats for electric heat 

    PLUMBING / MECHANICAL

    • Assess lodge mechanical room plumbing (remove unused lines)

    • Remove unused plumbing for chalet AHU

    • Blow out sewer line to lagoon

    • Scope & clean chalet sewer to septic

    • Repair walk-in cooler drain

    PAINTING / FINISHING

    • Spray paint doors (Residential or auto-body painter preferred)

    ROOFING / EXTERIOR / DRAINAGE

    • Install / replace all eavestroughs

    • Reroute lodge eavestrough drainage

    • Unplug chalet downspouts

    • Install heat tape / eavestrough tape

    • Re-slope west cabin basements

    MASONRY

    • Repair missing stones on chalet exterior wall

    MECHANICAL / EQUIPMENT REPAIR

    • Repair kitchen exhaust fan bearing

    DEMOLITION / SITE

    • Demolish & clear collapsed shed

    • Chainsaw work: harvest firewood for fire pits
